All Frameworks Are Made Up
You Have A Framework. You Just Haven't Named It.
I was on a coaching call last week, mid-explanation of my 20-60-20 rule, when I caught myself and said the quiet part out loud:
“All frameworks are made up. You just have to make sure they’re memorable.”
Light laughter on the call. Then a long pause. Then someone went “...wait.”
Here’s the thing.
The 4-Hour Workweek wasn’t 4 hours. Tim Ferriss admits it.
The 80/20 rule is a rough approximation, not a law of physics.
10,000 hours is more vibes than science (just do the work).
None of that matters.
They stuck because they were specific, repeatable, and easy to say. The math was the marketing, not the proof.
I used to think the people whose methods caught on had figured out something I hadn’t. Some secret about what was true.
Turns out a lot of them had just figured out something about what was sticky.
If you’ve been working a method for years — your editing process, your content system, the way you onboard clients — and it works but nobody knows what to call it, you don’t have a method problem.
You have a packaging problem.
The people who name their thing get credit for their thing.
The people who don’t get borrowed from quietly.
Name it. Number it. Make it kinda ridiculous if you want. Just make it stick.
