Three emails, one topic, only one made money
How to make your stories sell
I took the same topic—building a seven-figure newsletter—and wrote it three different ways.
Same audience. Same ideas. Same offer.
The topical version taught everything. Went viral. Made almost nothing.
The story version was engaging. People loved reading it. But nobody clicked.
The parable version? That’s the one that drove revenue.
Here’s why.
Topical emails close the curiosity gap. You teach the whole thing. Reader thinks: “Great, I’ll try this myself.”
Story emails never open the gap. Engaging, sure. But the reader finishes and thinks: “Cool. Now what?”
Parable emails open the gap through the story — and your offer fills it. The reader isn’t pitched. They’re led. They recognize their own problem and want help solving it.
The format changes everything. Even when the content stays the same.
You probably don’t have a writing problem. You have a format problem.

P.S. I built a free prompt that takes your story idea and turns it into a parable-style email — the kind that actually sells. Comment STORY and I’ll send it your way.
